The service
Pet Travel Advisor provides general information about travelling with pets through the assistant Mila, a checklist prepared by our team on request, and PT Pass: a pet passport and a community map of pet-friendly places. The service is free for pet owners.
Your PT Pass account
You need an account for PT Pass. You must be at least 16, give true details and keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. The pet passport is your own record. It is not an official document and does not replace the EU pet passport, a health certificate or anything an authority asks for. You can delete your account at any time in Profile.
What you add to the map
Pins, reviews, photos, answers and safety alerts you add are public to other PT Pass users. Add only places you know, write from your own experience, upload only photos you took, and leave other people's faces and personal details out. You keep the rights to your content and give us a free, worldwide licence to show it in PT Pass, on the site and in Mila's answers, also after you delete your account (without your name). Businesses may reply to reviews of their place.
Moderation
Anyone can report a pin, review or alert. Our team reviews reports and may edit or remove content, take back the Paws it earned, pause adding after pins proven fake, or block an account that breaks these terms. Three independent "not pet-friendly" or "closed" answers take a pin off the map.
Paws, stamps and levels
Paws, stamps, levels and Founding Pack numbers recognise what you do for the community. They have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not a payment method. Rewards and the rules for earning them may change. Paws earned by abuse, or for content that was removed, can be taken back.
No guarantee of accuracy
Mila answers from documents we curate, but regulations change and an answer may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for confirming requirements with the official authorities, airlines and carriers of every country you travel through before you travel. We are not liable for refused entry, quarantine, costs or other losses resulting from reliance on the service.
Not veterinary advice
Nothing here is veterinary or medical advice. Consult a veterinarian about your animal's health and fitness to travel.
Safety alerts
Safety alerts (poison bait, aggressive dogs, hazards) come from other pet owners and expire on their own. They are not checked by any authority. In an emergency, call the local authorities or a veterinarian.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send abusive content, to probe or overload our systems, or for any unlawful purpose. We may limit or block access to protect the service.
Businesses and pet policies
Pet policies of listed businesses are written by the businesses themselves and reviewed by our team for completeness, not guaranteed. "Registered on PTA" means the business is approved in our business portal, not that we inspected the place. Confirm the policy with the business before booking.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
